Backpack Buddies Green Acres Elementary

The Rotary Club of Smyrna has joined forces with Backpack Buddies of Atlanta to support students at Green Acres Elementary. Through this partnership, we have packed more than 6,750 bags of food for students in need. While the school provides meals during the week, many of these children would go hungry over the weekend without our support. To date, we've sourced, transported, packed, and delivered over 25,650 pounds of food to Green Acres. By the end of this school year, we anticipate packing over 8,000 bags of food, totaling over 40,000 pounds, or 20 tons, to help feed these students. This is a significant initiative with a profound impact on our local community.
